GrandmaCane Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: September 15, 2026
Welcome to GrandmaCane. GrandmaCane is a private, family-oriented website created to give family members a place to communicate, share photographs and videos, preserve memories, and stay connected.
By accessing or using GrandmaCane.com, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Private Family Community
GrandmaCane is a private, invitation-only website intended for family members and other specifically invited individuals.
Access to GrandmaCane is a privilege, not a public service. Accounts may not be sold, transferred, shared with unauthorized individuals, or used to provide access to people who have not been invited to the site.
Please respect the private nature of the community and the privacy of the people who participate in it.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GrandmaCane account and password.
Please do not share your password with other people or allow others to use your account. If you believe someone has gained unauthorized access to your account, notify the site administrator.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account.
3. Be Kind
GrandmaCane exists to help family members stay connected.
Users are expected to treat one another with reasonable respect and consideration. Harassment, threats, deliberate intimidation, impersonation, malicious behavior, or other seriously disruptive conduct may result in content being removed or an account being restricted or disabled.
Family disagreements are inevitable. GrandmaCane does not require everyone to agree with one another; it does require people to behave reasonably toward one another.
4. Your Content Belongs to You
You retain ownership of photographs, videos, messages, posts, comments, documents, and other material that you upload to GrandmaCane.
By uploading content, you give GrandmaCane permission to store, process, display, resize, reproduce, and otherwise technically handle that content as necessary to operate the website and make it available to authorized GrandmaCane users.
GrandmaCane does not claim ownership of your personal content.
5. Respect Other People's Content and Privacy
The fact that something has been shared on GrandmaCane does not necessarily mean that it is intended to be shared elsewhere.
Please use good judgment before copying, downloading, reposting, publishing, or distributing photographs, videos, messages, documents, or other material shared by another family member.
When appropriate, obtain permission before sharing another person's content outside GrandmaCane.
Extra care should be taken with photographs, videos, personal information, and other content involving children or other people who may not have chosen to share the material themselves.
6. Content You Upload
You should only upload content that you have the right or reasonable permission to share.
Do not knowingly upload material that:
- violates another person's copyright or other legal rights;
- unlawfully invades another person's privacy;
- contains malware or other intentionally harmful software;
- is fraudulent or deliberately deceptive in a way likely to cause harm;
- promotes or facilitates illegal activity; or
- is otherwise unlawful.
The site administrator may remove content when reasonably necessary to protect GrandmaCane, its users, or other people.
7. Private Does Not Mean Secret
GrandmaCane is designed as a private family website, but no online service can guarantee absolute confidentiality.
Other authorized users may be able to save, copy, photograph, screenshot, download, or redistribute material they can see.
Please do not post information that would create serious harm if another person obtained a copy of it.
8. Availability, Backups, and Data Loss
GrandmaCane is a privately operated family website and is provided on an "as available" basis.
Reasonable efforts may be made to maintain the website and protect its contents, but uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, or recovery of every item cannot be guaranteed.
Software failures, hosting problems, hardware failures, human error, security incidents, or other circumstances may occasionally result in service interruption or data loss.
Users should retain their own copies of photographs, videos, documents, and other material that they consider important or irreplaceable.
9. Administration
The GrandmaCane administrator may take reasonable actions necessary to operate, maintain, secure, repair, or improve the website.
This may include removing content, correcting technical problems, restricting features, resetting accounts, temporarily taking the website offline, or suspending or disabling an account when necessary.
Administrative access may also make it technically possible for the administrator or hosting systems to access information stored on the website. Such access should be limited to legitimate administrative, maintenance, security, troubleshooting, or legal purposes.
10. Changes to GrandmaCane
GrandmaCane is an evolving family project.
Features may be added, changed, replaced, or removed over time. These Terms & Conditions may also be updated as the website changes.
When significant changes are made to these Terms, reasonable efforts will be made to notify users.
Continued use of GrandmaCane after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. No Commercial Service or Warranty
GrandmaCane is a private family project and is not offered as a commercial social-networking, data-storage, archival, or communications service.
The website and its features are provided without warranties regarding uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, permanent availability, or preservation of data.
To the extent permitted by law, the operator of GrandmaCane will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use of, inability to use, or loss of information stored on the website.
12. Leaving GrandmaCane
If you no longer wish to participate in GrandmaCane, you may ask the site administrator to disable or remove your account.
Removal of an account may not automatically remove every post, comment, photograph, message, or other contribution associated with that account, particularly where the material forms part of conversations or content shared with other family members.
Requests concerning particular content can be made to the site administrator.
13. Questions or Problems
Questions about these Terms, account access, inappropriate content, privacy concerns, or technical problems should be directed to the GrandmaCane site administrator.
In short: GrandmaCane is our family's private online space. Protect your account, respect everyone's privacy, share thoughtfully, be kind to one another, and remember that anything important should also exist somewhere besides a website.
